Psalm 23:5

Your Real Enemies

The first time my church sang Raise A Hallelujah I fell in love.

It was such a powerful song to say "I'm going to sing in the middle of the storm. Louder & louder, you're going to hear my praises roar. Up from the ashes, hope will arise. Death is defeated. The King is alive" (whew 🔥🔥🔥)

But then there was a part that said: "I'll raise a hallelujah in the presence of my enemies" At this time in my life that's the only part of the song I didn't sing with as much powerful passion and conviction. I don't have any enemies.

When I heard the LIVE version by Bethel Music, Jonathan David Helser, and Melissa Helser on YouTube and listened to the testimony, in the beginning, I was like WOW 🤯 God you are so good!

This song was written about the enemy-- doubt that crept into his mind as he received a bad doctor's report for a precious little boy.

This beautiful song came in his spirit-- He raised a hallelujah 🙌🏾 a praise!

Our enemies are not just people. In fact, the Bible tells us we wrestle not against flesh and blood but principalities and rulers of the darkness of this world and evil spirits in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

So connecting this fact to Psalm 23:5: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

We learn that the table God has prepared for us in front of our enemies is not just about your haters or naysayers who are drinking hatorade 😁 It's our enemies is spiritual warfare.

So who/what is your enemy?

Fear? Discontentment? Doubt? Division? Prejudice? Lies? Pride? Greed?

Identify it. And pray against it! Praise in the midst. And confuse that enemy like Gideon and his army did.

The enemy will self destruct and to God be the glory! 🍽 Enjoy your blessing!

Praise is a weapon. Take it to God in prayer 💙
